Everyone should have an equal opportunity to access high quality care and support to meet their individual needs and people should not be disadvantaged due to their background, culture or community.

Workers need to be sensitive to people's needs and have the confidence to discuss individuals' differences to find out how they can best offer care and support.

Our tools and resources support you and your teams to develop a deeper understanding of equality, diversity and inclusivity in the workplace, and actions you can take to improve both individually and organisationally, to best support those accessing care and support.

Confident with difference

This resource is a series of five short films and activities to support you and your team to consider how well you currently embrace diversity and what you could do to improve. Four of the films are for managers and leaders to use with your teams and one is for managers and organisation leaders.

Creating an inclusive organisation

People from ethnic minority backgrounds often face barriers to career progression and these two eLearning modules explore these barriers. The modules will support learners from ethnic minority backgrounds to deal with specific challenges they may face and they're also a valuable tool for anyone working in social care who'd like to learn more about equality, diversity and inclusivity.

LGBTQ+ learning framework

This learning framework for working with LGBTQ+ people in later life aims to provide a base for identifying the insights, knowledge, understanding and skills that the social care workforce need to help them work affirmatively, inclusively and effectively with individuals from gender and sexually diverse communities.

Moving Up

Our Moving Up programme supports Black and Asian minoritised groups who are managers or aspiring managers and have the desire and drive to progress in their career but are facing blockages and resistance preventing them from doing so.
